Now in its sixth year, this programme brings together emerging playwrights from across Aotearoa with experienced mentors to craft brand new 10-minute plays. Each piece is then brought to life in a whirlwind day of creativity — matched with a professional director and a cast of local actors for a one-day rehearsal, culminating in a staged script-in-hand reading that same evening.

This programme would not be possible without the generous contributions of our community performers, who volunteer their time and talents.

How can you get involved?

1 – Audition to perform!

We’re looking for a diverse range of performers to match the variety of roles that come through. These are script-in-hand readings, so there’s no need to memorise lines — just bring your energy, take direction, and be ready to dive in! Worried about a lack of performance experience? Don’t be — our casts are a great mix of seasoned performers and people making their stage debut.

2 – Come and watch!

Be among the first to experience fresh new Aotearoa works. It's a unique opportunity to support talented local performers as they bring bold new stories from the page to the stage — all in one day!
